Get IN Chicago welcomed a new intern, Emily Robertson, to our team in January. Emily, a Gannon Scholar at Loyola University, will assist with projects ranging from grant compliance and budgets to communications and events.  Thank you to the Baum Family Fund for providing generous funding for her work!

Name: Emily Robertson
Hometown: Avon, OH
Current Neighborhood: Rogers Park, Chicago
School: Loyola University Chicago
Major: Communication Studies
Most interesting thing you’ve learned so far about Get IN Chicago: The most interesting I’ve learned so far about Get IN Chicago is their focus on evidence-based research to holistically support communities and youth in need.
Best way to spend a Saturday in Chicago: I love walking along the lakefront, finding all the different art sculptures around the city, and visiting cute, local shops and restaurants!
Favorite Chicago food: ANYTHING from Portillo’s.
Post-School Goals + Plans: I’m not sure yet. However, I’m considering the possibility of attending law school to study children’s law and policy to represent minors within the justice system. Otherwise, I’d love to do grant writing and fundraising for a non-profit!
