Get IN Chicago hosted service-providers, policy-makers, funders and community members for a rich day of discussion and innovation around youth violence prevention efforts at our Building Stronger Systems for Youth Symposium. Youth poet Kyla Strickler and Ben Austen, author of High-Risers: Cabrini-Green and the Fate of American Public Housing kicked off the day followed by panel discussions related to engaging the right youth (the acutely high-risk); coordinating services; dealing with trauma and building resiliency in theory and in practice and how a public health approach to youth fun violence can improve our effectiveness moving forward. The day included an update from Get IN Chicago with lessons and levers for success.
