What interested you about the Get IN Chicago position?
The opportunity to put my analytical mind and curiosity to work in making an impact in the community where I live. I was looking forward to transitioning from the corporate private sector to the nonprofit and philanthropic field, and the Grants Coordinator role at Get IN Chicago was the perfect chance for me to do that. I am interested in learning more about our grants and the impacts they have in the community.

Why do you think data is important to nonprofit work, and youth violence reduction in particular?
It is important because this is a key way to measure our efforts in working to reduce youth violence, to help us see the effectiveness of the programs, and compare the outcomes.  Collected data helps us illustrate the success of the work and learn how to strengthen programs for more impact.
